Here we go into 2013.  This Semester our Learning Studio is going to examining how we can make a difference in the world.  That seems a REALLY BIG topic and so broad that it's hard to know where to even begin.

Don't panic!  We have lots of ideas and plans for how we'll approach it. Miss Scott and I know that you will have lots of ideas too.

In the meantime, I also thought about the way that the biggest projects often have the most impact with the smallest beginnings. So, with that in mind I thought that we would look at the way that we can impact the world immediately around us.

I've been reading some interesting things over the holidays Some of it was even on Facebook (Shock horror!).  A big part of what I was looking at was about KINDNESS.  You know kindness; that thing where we do nice/good/thoughtful stuff for another person for no reason at all - except that it will make their life easier and/or more pleasant.

Anyway, I was thinking about it and wondering two things:
     1. How would you define kindness?
     2. What are some examples can you think of where you could show kindness to another person?

Shall I give you a simple example or two?  Okay.  I could show kindness by holding a door open for students to walk through instead of pushing through first.  Or, I could carry the newspapers in for Meagan in the mornings.

Take some time to think about it and then I want you to post your responses in the blog. (Remember to use complete sentences, no slang or text talk)

We're going to have a KINDNESS section in our room where we can post notes about our Acts of Kindness.  Let's talk about how we're going to do this when we get together.
